What You Know About Back Pain and What is the Risk of it?

Back of the body plays an important role in one’s day-to-day activities. Suffering from back pain is common in everyday at one time or the other which may occur due to various reasons. Mostly when there is no direct injury then the usual cause attributed is week back or weak abdomen muscles, poor/incorrect posture, improper or excessive training methods etc. The onset of back pain is frequently initiated by sudden forward/backward bending. Due to forward bending soft tissue injuries may occur whereas extension i.e.backward bending more often creates injuries to the bones. Also muscles of back, buttock and abdomen lie in the lumbar region to support the spinal cord.

Lumber region is the most flexible region in spine where maximum range of motions like frequent damaged and pain occurs. In lumber spinal stenosis, narrowing of one or more area of spinal cord occur that exerting pressure one the spinal cord. By James Kearney

Managing our back pain can be one of the biggest physical challenges that we are faced with. The pain that we feel can affect so many aspects of our life. Shedding a few pounds can make a lot of difference, but if we are unable to get out and move around, it can be incredibly difficult to slim down even a little.

If you are experiencing chronic back pain or occasional flare ups, check with your physician before engaging in any exercise.

Back Pain and the Slumping Economy

It is not news that the global economy at large is hurting. Whether you’re in the United States or around the world, the prolonged economic slump is something that’s no surprise to millions of people today. However, what might come as a surprise to some people, is not a surprise once you settle in and think about it. A slumping economy could be directly related with a slumping posture. What I mean to illustrate is that the productivity of workers with back pain could be hurting the economy due to lack of motivation and work effort output due to chronic or severe pain in the back. That’s right, back pain and economy walk hand in hand.

While many people do not consider back pain and the well being of the economy, some governments are recognizing that as a problem that could help productivity rise and health insurance claims drop, resulting in a larger overall wealth. For instance the "Better Backs" campaign launched in the U.K. is a great movement to help work related back pain and illness to not only be identified but also stopped. The sole purpose of the Better Backs campaign is to help reduce work-related back pain by not only grass roots local campaign events, but also larger safety meetings with top companies. The campaign has been a huge success for the past several years and has helped promoted lifting aids, and other safety devices to help assist workers.

Back Pain Exercises – The Way to a Pain Free Back?

Non specific back pain affects about eighty percent of us at some point in our lives. This is the type of back pain, usually but not always lower back pain, which just seems to come out of nowhere. It will not be caused by a specific injury or disease but is more likely caused by lifestyle; too much sitting, too little exercise or the wrong type of exercise.

When our ancestors lived in caves, we were a lot more active than we are now. Our activity was a lot more varied meaning that we exercised a much wider range of muscles. Modern life where we can spend a lot of time sitting is not good for our backs. I can virtually guarantee that if you suffer from back pain, you will stretch painfully whenever you stand, ironing out the kinks in your back as you straighten up.

So, if lack of exercise and the resulting poor posture is the cause of non-specific back pain, and many other back conditions, it should hardly come as a surprise that back pain exercise is the best way to sort it out.
