What is the Carb to Protein Ratio on the Medifast Diet?
Someone recently sent me an email asking "what is the carb to protein ratio in most of the medifast meals and also in the "lean and green meal" that you are supposed to eat each day?" I didn’t know the answer to this question off of the top of my head. So I set out to research it. What I found was that I was pretty much going to have to figure this out myself if I wanted a very precise answer. The company’s literature encourages a favorable ratio and the foods appear to be very specifically designed to be low in carbohydrates and high in protein. But, for those who want more specific measurements than this, I’m going to look at some of the more popular medifast meals to really determine the protein to carb ratio on these items.

Is Your Diet Plan Not Working?
Would you like a diet guaranteed to work? Let me guess, the answer is YES. Would you like a million dollars and maybe…. World Peace?
Again, the answer is… probably yes. OK, with all joking aside, and these rhetorical questions out of the way, let us talk about losing weight. Leaving these other small issues to another day!
Those of us with a few (or maybe more than a few) extra pounds and extra inches need a working solution. Any diet can be guaranteed to work IF you follow it correctly, but having the will power to stick with it for any length of time is the problem. The one type of diet that works fairly well for me is a low carbohydrate diet. Choosing a low carb diet allows eating larger amounts of food and more satisfying types of food and still drops the pounds quickly.

What You Need to Know About Proper Dieting
So what is proper dieting? Let’s start by taking a quick look at what it isn’t. It isn’t taking a pill and continuing to eat whatever you like. It isn’t starving yourself and eating next to nothing. It also isn’t eating nothing but grapefruit or soup or any other one or two items diets. Instead, proper dieting is eating a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water and getting enough exercise so you are burning more calories than you take in on a daily basis.
You need to eat food from each of the five food groups on a regular basis. The key is to closely watch how much you eat from each group – and what choices you make within the food group. Each food group has choices and some are better than others to help you lose weight. Within the protein group, for example, fish and white meat chicken are your healthiest choices.

The Paleo Diet Review-
The "Caveman" diet is what it is often referred to. The theory of this diet can about when someone decided that cavemen used to eat much healthier than men from today; this is true. There were no McDonald drive-thru’s back then, no KFC chicken. They ate healthy and they ate what they could.
Of course, we should not go back to the caveman days just to maintain a healthy heart, but our ancestors have taught us so much about hunting and survival that we should appreciate and take what they have given us, in terms of knowledge, and run with it. We could easily still eat this way.
The Paleo Diet offers the following:
